Fondazione Ferragamo for Archivissima
"What to save from what was before us? What to produce again? How to establish a connection and, above all, how to generate new life from what has been decided to preserve? It is to answer these questions that the archives enter the scene, at the same time as spaces of custody of memory and training tools, open to the challenges of the future."
#GENERAZIONI is the theme of the 2021 edition of ARCHIVISSIMA, a festival dedicated to the promotion and enhancement of archival heritage.
For the occasion, Fondazione Ferragamo made this short documentary, interpreting the theme thanks to the voice of many protagonists. Thus emerge, through the stories of experiences and projects carried out over the years and aimed at different generations, the fundamental values of Fondazione Ferragamo , which has always been committed to the support of young generations and to the enhancement of the historical archive, invaluable tool of culture, study and inspiration for everyone.

Panzano in Chianti.
"Le radici dell’arte" is an appointment with contemporary art, curated by Galleria Continua and Philippe Austruy, collector, patron and owner of several wonderful wine estates in France, Portugal and Italy.
Museo Salvatore Ferragamo collaborated on the work «Teenager Teenager» by Chinese artists Sun Yuan & Peng Yu , presented at Tenuta Casenuove, Panzano in Chianti.
«Teenager Teenager» is an installation that shows men and women dressed in clothes by Salvatore Ferragamo sitting on a sofa and some armchairs. Each character holds a huge stone, representing a head that prevents them from seeing.
In the spectators’ eyes - with a humorous touch - the sculptures look like living characters, actors in a performance. This work is the demonstration of a constant analysis of life based on experience, in which the public is often invited to participate, in the search for the essence and substance that are hidden behind the appearance. In this case, the reflection shifts to the limits of communication, to generational conflicts, but also to the possibility of changing and protecting what we have.
Taking part in the event, Museo Salvatore Ferragamo confirms its interest in contemporary art and renews the relationship with Galleria Continua, witnessed by many collaborations such as the installation Invasion by Pascale Marthine Tayou part of the exhibition Sustainable Thinking at Museo Salvatore Ferragamo in Florence since 2019.
